After school care

To ensure that no child is left unsupervised on the school campus, After School Care is provided, during term time, for pupils from Grade Pre R to Grade 7 to ensure that no child is unsupervised on the campus after school hours. It is held in various venues on our campus.

The facility provides responsible and caring after-school hours supervision for our pupils on Mondays to Thursdays until 18:00 and on Fridays until 17:15. A programme of age-appropriate activities is offered, in a safe, structured and positive environment.

Supervised homework, where appropriate, is offered during the course of the afternoon – at this time pupils are encouraged to complete two items of homework. Each pupil in Grades 2 to 7 requires a homework book, pencil and eraser. Parents are, however, responsible for checking and signing of homework diaries daily.

Our supervisors are trained and experienced in early childhood development and are aware of each individual child’s needs and abilities. Supervisors attend various courses from time to time, including First Aid and Safety.

Pupils are served a light snack between 14:30 and 15:00. The snacks differ each day and take care of certain dietary needs. We also make provision for casual attendance is for emergencies only and is available at a daily rate.

A holiday care programme is provided on a needs basis for a limited period during the longer school holidays.
